Business English at POLBAN

Polytechnic Negeri Bandung (POLBAN) is one of polytechnic in Indonesia. It is located on Jl. Gegerkalong Hilir, Ds. Ciwaruga Bandung. POLBAN has thirteen departments, which have many lectures. One of department is Business Administration. There is general lecture in POLBAN, which every departments study it. It is English lecture. Especially for Business Administration Department (AN), POLBAN make Business English is compulsory. It is as a consequence of the importance of Business English for AN Students.
Business English is English especially related to international trade. Business Administration students’ studies the subject with the goal of doing business with English-speaking countries, or with companies located outside the home country but which nonetheless use English as a shared language.
Business Administration Department have three study programs, there are Office Administration, Tour and Travel and Marketing study program. They study carefully about Business English for five semesters. It because to support student’s career. Students learn about vocabulary and topics used in the worlds of business, trade, finance, and international relations. Furthermore they learn Business English to improve the communication skills used in the workplace, and focuses on the language and skills needed for typical business communication such as presentations, negotiations, meetings, small talk, socializing, correspondence, report writing, and so on. For others it refers to Students University prepares business English to enter the job market.
POLBAN has qualify lecturer, good lecture material and excellent steps in teaching for business English, as a result student in fifth semester have better ability in English than when they were in first semester.
